Oahu: why not jump into a rain water pool?
Take a 45 minute drive from Honolulu to enjoy more of what the North Shore offers: tranquil beauty!
The Waimea Valley boasts a bay with teal blue water, and on the other side a lovely place to hike and explore botaanical gardens and birds.
Price: see below, it’s very reasonable per a person. The audio tours are additional, but signs can be read on the hike to the waterfall for free.
This trip is ideal for anyone as the hike is paved and flat. Those with walking concerns can opt in for the shuttle service.
Just look at some of the awe inspiring scenery. 
At the end of your hike, jump into the rain fed waterfall. I’m the “Valley of the Priests”. It’s very cool! If you are going in beyond ankle deep, life jackets are mandatory as the pool beneath the waterfall is 30 feet deep (life jackets included in the price of admission). Life guards and shaded seating near the falls are also available.

Tips: Go early and avoid the tour bus crowd. We arrived 30 minutes after opening and were some of the first people present. Individuals on a tour bus were limited in time (30 minutes). This is why I recommend taking yourself.
Onsite facilities also included restrooms (one near the waterfall, and one at the entrance), onsite cafe, gift shop, and cultural demonstrations.
Yesterday was about the Oahu Maze!, Waimea Valley is about 20 minutes from here, why not plan both in the same day?
